A workshop with Sigrun Palmisano from the organisation Weltweitwandernwirkt in autumn 2024 sparked the idea of a cooperation between our school and the Community College Hile, Nepal. The students of class 5A got to know the country and the school system as well as the work of the NGO Weltweitwandernwirkt in Kathmandu and Hile. As a follow-up, they did research on the topography, climate and living condition in Nepal in their CLIL Geography lessons. They also  decided to do a charity project and to collect money through a pop-up waffle counter in the school’s hallway, which was a real success. Additionally, the students created videos in which they showed our school and shared some personal information with the students in Nepal. These videos were shared with the Nepalese students and since it is an ongoing project, there will be further cooperation and actions in the next few weeks. Getting to know the importance of social responsibility, intercultural learning and civil engagement are just a few of the benefits of this project!
